Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Two Figures by Moshe Mokady was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in December 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 10,625.00 (€ 10,069.18) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Moshe Mokady achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Landscape Through an Open Window in November 2011 with an auction result of USD 188,500.00 (€ 140,117.45).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Two Figures von Moshe Mokady kam im Dezember 2016 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 10.625,00 (€ 10.069,18) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Moshe Mokady erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Landscape Through an Open Window im November 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 188.500,00 (€ 140.117,45).
