Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Cappa Da Opera (Opera Girl) by Morris Hirshfield was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2014. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 150,000.00 – 250,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 173,000.00 (€ 126,832.84) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Morris Hirshfield - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cats In The Snow, which sold at auction in November 2015 for USD 281,000.00 (€ 266,048.10).

Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 150.000,00 – 250.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 173.000,00 (€ 126.832,84) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
