Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2002 Christies in Los Angeles held the auction CALIFORNIA, WESTERN AND AMERICAN PAINTINGS, which included the work Mango Seed by Morris Cole Graves. The price achieved of USD 4,780.00 (€ 4,812.73) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Morris Cole Graves achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shore Birds in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 408,500.00 (€ 350,042.84).

Im November 2002 führte Christies in Los Angeles die Auktion CALIFORNIA, WESTERN AND AMERICAN PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mango Seed von Morris Cole Graves zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 4.780,00 (€ 4.812,73) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Morris Cole Graves erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Shore Birds im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 408.500,00 (€ 350.042,84).
