Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2017 a collector was able to acquire the work Tibetan (Wild Herb) by Morris Cole Graves for USD 1,875.00 (€ 1,575.90). This price was achieved in the auction American Art Online at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Morris Cole Graves achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shore Birds in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 408,500.00 (€ 350,042.84).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November 2017 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Tibetan (Wild Herb) von Morris Cole Graves für USD 1.875,00 (€ 1.575,90) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion American Art Online bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Morris Cole Graves erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Shore Birds im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 408.500,00 (€ 350.042,84).
