Auction result well in line with expectations

In August 2020 Christies in New York held the auction American Art Online, which included the work Mexican Birds by Morris Cole Graves. The price achieved of USD 20,000.00 (€ 16,756.03) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Morris Cole Graves achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shore Birds in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 408,500.00 (€ 350,042.84).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Im August 2020 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mexican Birds von Morris Cole Graves zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 20.000,00 (€ 16.756,03) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Morris Cole Graves erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Shore Birds im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 408.500,00 (€ 350.042,84).
