In October 2017 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Morita Shiryu: Bokujin, which included the work Mau - Dance by Morita Shiryū. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 400,000.00 (€ 44,024.73), 60% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Morita Shiryū have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work So - Wilderness in October 2017 with an auction result of HKD 2,740,000.00 (€ 301,569.37).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 60 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2017 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Morita Shiryu: Bokujin durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mau - Dance von Morita Shiryū zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 400.000,00 (€ 44.024,73) und damit 60% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Morita Shiryū auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit So - Wilderness im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 2.740.000,00 (€ 301.569,37).
