Upper estimate price exceeded by 35 %.
In October 2021 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Ekoh (Illumination) by Morita Shiryū. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 945,000.00 (€ 105,118.16), 35% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Morita Shiryū - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work So - Wilderness, which sold at auction in October 2017 for HKD 2,740,000.00 (€ 301,569.37).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 35 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2021 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ekoh (Illumination) von Morita Shiryū zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 945.000,00 (€ 105.118,16) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Morita Shiryū mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit So - Wilderness beobachtet, die im Oktober 2017 für HKD 2.740.000,00 (€ 301.569,37) versteigert wurde.
