This artwork by Mohan Samant achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March last year. In the Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art auction, the work without title sold for USD 40,320.00 (€ 36,347.25) - well above the upper estimate of USD 18,000.00. Admittedly, works by Mohan Samant have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Kings And The Crowd in March 2020 with an auction result of USD 162,500.00 (€ 147,338.83).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Mohan Samant erzielte im März letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 40.320,00 (€ 36.347,25) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 18.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mohan Samant auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Kings And The Crowd im März 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 162.500,00 (€ 147.338,83).
