This artwork by Mohan Samant achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2020. In the Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art auction, the work Composition sold for USD 52,500.00 (€ 47,601.78) - well above the upper estimate of USD 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mohan Samant - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Kings And The Crowd, which sold at auction in March 2020 for USD 162,500.00 (€ 147,338.83).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Mohan Samant erzielte im März 2020 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art wurde die Arbeit Composition für USD 52.500,00 (€ 47.601,78) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 20.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Mohan Samant mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Kings And The Crowd beobachtet, die im März 2020 für USD 162.500,00 (€ 147.338,83) versteigert wurde.
