The »bidding war« ended at INR 4,375,000.00 (€ 55,252.58), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mohan Samant - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Kings And The Crowd, which sold at auction in March 2020 for USD 162,500.00 (€ 147,338.83).

Die Arbeit Picnic At Paradise Island von Mohan Samant wurde im November 2018 in der Auktion Boundless: India bei Sothebys in Mumbai versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von INR 4.375.000,00 (€ 55.252,58) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Mohan Samant mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Kings And The Crowd beobachtet, die im März 2020 für USD 162.500,00 (€ 147.338,83) versteigert wurde.
