Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2015 a collector was able to acquire this work without title by Mohan Samant for USD 17,500.00 (€ 16,292.71). This price was achieved in the auction Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Mohan Samant have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Kings And The Crowd in March 2020 with an auction result of USD 162,500.00 (€ 147,338.83).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März 2015 konnte ein Sammler diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Mohan Samant für USD 17.500,00 (€ 16.292,71) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mohan Samant auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Kings And The Crowd im März 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 162.500,00 (€ 147.338,83).
