Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Mohan Samant could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in March 2012 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art auction, the work Untitled (White Wall) changed hands for USD 47,500.00 (€ 35,623.22) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Admittedly, works by Mohan Samant have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Kings And The Crowd in March 2020 with an auction result of USD 162,500.00 (€ 147,338.83).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Mohan Samant konnte im März 2012 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art wechselte die Arbeit Untitled (White Wall) für USD 47.500,00 (€ 35.623,22) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mohan Samant auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Kings And The Crowd im März 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 162.500,00 (€ 147.338,83).
