In October 2016 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art, which included the work Untitled (Dawn) by Mohan Samant. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,355.23), 50% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mohan Samant achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Kings And The Crowd in March 2020 with an auction result of USD 162,500.00 (€ 147,338.83).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2016 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Dawn) von Mohan Samant zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.355,23) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mohan Samant erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Kings And The Crowd im März 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 162.500,00 (€ 147.338,83).
