Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Mohan Samant could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in September 2010 for an unexpectedly low price. In the South Asian Art auction, the work The Agony Of The Golden Moon changed hands for USD 12,500.00 (€ 9,190.50) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mohan Samant achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Kings And The Crowd in March 2020 with an auction result of USD 162,500.00 (€ 147,338.83).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Mohan Samant konnte im September 2010 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion South Asian Art wechselte die Arbeit The Agony Of The Golden Moon für USD 12.500,00 (€ 9.190,50) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mohan Samant erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Kings And The Crowd im März 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 162.500,00 (€ 147.338,83).
