Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Cursive Script Calligraphy by Mo Shilong was sold in the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2019. The price achieved of HKD 175,000.00 (€ 20,296.76) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 120,000.00 – 200,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mo Shilong - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Five-character Poem in Cursive Script, which sold at auction in June 2015 for HKD 687,500.00 (€ 79,511.83).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Cursive Script Calligraphy von Mo Shilong wurde im November 2019 in der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 175.000,00 (€ 20.296,76) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 120.000,00 – 200.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Mo Shilong mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Five-character Poem in Cursive Script beobachtet, die im Juni 2015 für HKD 687.500,00 (€ 79.511,83) versteigert wurde.
