Auction result well in line with expectations
In June this year Christies in Paris held the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Brewing Tea for Scholar by Mo Shilong. The price achieved of HKD 94,500.00 (€ 11,042.31) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 80,000.00 – 100,000.00. Admittedly, works by Mo Shilong have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Five-character Poem in Cursive Script in June 2015 with an auction result of HKD 687,500.00 (€ 79,511.83).
