Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled (Face Design with Ribbon and Flowers) by Minnie Evans was auctioned at Christies in New York in January 2003, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,792.50 (€ 1,669.15). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Minnie Evans achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Voice of the Third Angel in January this year with an auction result of USD 42,840.00 (€ 39,454.78).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Untitled (Face Design with Ribbon and Flowers) von Minnie Evans im Januar 2003 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.792,50 (€ 1.669,15) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Minnie Evans erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Voice of the Third Angel im Januar diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 42.840,00 (€ 39.454,78).
