In January 2021 Christies in New York held the auction Outsider and Vernacular Art, which included the work Untitled, 1946 by Minnie Evans. The »bidding war« ended at USD 6,000.00 (€ 4,944.38), 50% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Minnie Evans have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Voice of the Third Angel in January this year with an auction result of USD 42,840.00 (€ 39,454.78).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Im Januar 2021 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Outsider and Vernacular Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled, 1946 von Minnie Evans zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 6.000,00 (€ 4.944,38) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Minnie Evans auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Voice of the Third Angel im Januar diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 42.840,00 (€ 39.454,78).
