Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2020 Bonhams in New York held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art, which included this untitled work by Milton Resnick. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 25,312.50 (€ 21,185.55) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Milton Resnick achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ulysses in May this year with an auction result of USD 252,000.00 (€ 236,530.88).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2020 führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Milton Resnick zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 25.312,50 (€ 21.185,55) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Milton Resnick erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ulysses im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 252.000,00 (€ 236.530,88).
