Alfred Schlee, Vienna (acquired in the 1970s; Schlee (1901 - 1999) was a music publisher and head of Universal Edition for 40 years. He was considered one of the most influential personalities in 20th-century music. The work Czech verticals by Mikuláš Medek was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2017. It achieved a price of GBP 42,500.00 (€ 48,243.82), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 42%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mikuláš Medek achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sorrow of the IVth Inquisitor in October last year with an auction result of GBP 731,100.00 (€ 851,723.40).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 42 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Czech verticals von Mikuláš Medek kam im November 2017 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 42.500,00 (€ 48.243,82) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 42%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mikuláš Medek erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sorrow of the IVth Inquisitor im Oktober letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 731.100,00 (€ 851.723,40).
