This artwork by Mikuláš Medek achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in November 2011. In the European Paintings auction, the work Czech lampa sold for GBP 37,250.00 (€ 43,485.56) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mikuláš Medek achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sorrow of the IVth Inquisitor in October last year with an auction result of GBP 731,100.00 (€ 851,723.40).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 86 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Mikuláš Medek erzielte im November 2011 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion European Paintings wurde die Arbeit Czech lampa für GBP 37.250,00 (€ 43.485,56) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mikuláš Medek erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sorrow of the IVth Inquisitor im Oktober letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 731.100,00 (€ 851.723,40).
