Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Cell 33, E2 Section (1), Pollsmoor Maximum Security Prison by Mikhael Subotzky was auctioned at Phillips in London in May 2018. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 8,125.00 (€ 9,252.20). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mikhael Subotzky - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Self-portrait (with the help of optometrist) R and L from Retinal Shift, which sold at auction in November 2018 for GBP 27,500.00 (€ 31,019.16).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Cell 33, E2 Section (1), Pollsmoor Maximum Security Prison von Mikhael Subotzky kam im Mai 2018 bei Phillips in London zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 8.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 8.125,00 (€ 9.252,20) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Mikhael Subotzky mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Self-portrait (with the help of optometrist) R and L from Retinal Shift beobachtet, die im November 2018 für GBP 27.500,00 (€ 31.019,16) versteigert wurde.
