In April 2021 Bonhams in London held the auction Modern & Contemporary African Art Online Sale, which included the work Offering To The Ancestors, Kwa Mandlankosi, Beaufort West, 2006 by Mikhael Subotzky. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,462.50 (€ 5,133.17), 49% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Mikhael Subotzky have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Self-portrait (with the help of optometrist) R and L from Retinal Shift in November 2018 with an auction result of GBP 27,500.00 (€ 31,019.16).

Im April 2021 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art Online Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Offering To The Ancestors, Kwa Mandlankosi, Beaufort West, 2006 von Mikhael Subotzky zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 4.462,50 (€ 5.133,17) und damit 49% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mikhael Subotzky auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Self-portrait (with the help of optometrist) R and L from Retinal Shift im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 27.500,00 (€ 31.019,16).
