Auction result well in line with expectations
The work In the Studio by Mick Rooney was sold in the 20th Century British Art auction at Christies in London in February 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,062.50 (€ 1,389.71) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mick Rooney - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Haberdasherland, which sold at auction in March 2005 for GBP 3,600.00 (€ 5,243.03).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit In the Studio von Mick Rooney wurde im Februar 2008 in der Auktion 20th Century British Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.062,50 (€ 1.389,71) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Mick Rooney mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Haberdasherland beobachtet, die im März 2005 für GBP 3.600,00 (€ 5.243,03) versteigert wurde.
