Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Herdsmen with their flock by Michiel Carrée was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2011, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 700.00 – 1,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 625.00 (€ 748.53). Admittedly, works by Michiel Carrée have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A wooded landscape with a drover and her cattle at rest by classical ruins; and A wooded river landscape with a drover and his cattle watering in July 2011 with an auction result of GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,451.34).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Herdsmen with their flock von Michiel Carrée im Dezember 2011 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 700,00 – 1.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 625,00 (€ 748,53) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Michiel Carrée auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A wooded landscape with a drover and her cattle at rest by classical ruins; and A wooded river landscape with a drover and his cattle watering im Juli 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.451,34).
