Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Landscape With Cows, Sheep And A Resting Herdsman by Michiel Carrée was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in June 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,875.00 (€ 1,669.49). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Michiel Carrée - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A wooded landscape with a drover and her cattle at rest by classical ruins; and A wooded river landscape with a drover and his cattle watering, which sold at auction in July 2011 for GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,451.34).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A Landscape With Cows, Sheep And A Resting Herdsman von Michiel Carrée im Juni 2020 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.875,00 (€ 1.669,49) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Michiel Carrée mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A wooded landscape with a drover and her cattle at rest by classical ruins; and A wooded river landscape with a drover and his cattle watering beobachtet, die im Juli 2011 für GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.451,34) versteigert wurde.
