Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Nectarine Man by Michael Leonard was sold in the Contemporary Art Online | New York auction at Sothebys in New York in July 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 4,375.00 (€ 3,930.82) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Michael Leonard have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Scaffolders in September 2017 with an auction result of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 17,017.69).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Nectarine Man von Michael Leonard wurde im Juli 2019 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Online | New York bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 4.375,00 (€ 3.930,82) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Michael Leonard auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Scaffolders im September 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 17.017,69).
