In April last year Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Evening Auction, which included the work Gathered Thoughts, Flower Series by Michael Lau. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 1,512,000.00 (€ 182,811.81), 59% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Michael Lau; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Tolerant (Package - Change Series) sold at auction in April this year with the realized price of HKD 252,000.00 (€ 257,341.30).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 59 % übertroffen
Im April letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Contemporary Evening Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Gathered Thoughts, Flower Series von Michael Lau zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 1.512.000,00 (€ 182.811,81) und damit 59% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Michael Lau; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Tolerant (Package - Change Series) im April diesen Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 252.000,00 (€ 257.341,30).
