Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Gardener Series 004 - Brian by Michael Lau was sold in the NO REGRETS: 20th/21st Century Art Online Sale auction at Christies in Hong Kong in April this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 100,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 100,800.00 (€ 102,936.52) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Michael Lau - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Tolerant (Package - Change Series), which sold at auction in April this year for HKD 252,000.00 (€ 257,341.30).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Gardener Series 004 - Brian von Michael Lau wurde im April diesen Jahres in der Auktion NO REGRETS: 20th/21st Century Art Online Sale bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 100.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 100.800,00 (€ 102.936,52) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Michael Lau mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Tolerant (Package - Change Series) beobachtet, die im April diesen Jahres für HKD 252.000,00 (€ 257.341,30) versteigert wurde.
