Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Michael Dweck achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in London in November 2015. In the Photographs auction, the work The Duke’s Mermaid (Sapphire) from Sculptural Form - Surfboard sold for GBP 37,500.00 (€ 53,413.18) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 18,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Michael Dweck - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sonya, Poles (Montauk), which sold at auction in October 2018 for USD 168,750.00 (€ 148,914.58).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Michael Dweck erzielte im November 2015 bei Phillips in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Photographs wurde die Arbeit The Duke’s Mermaid (Sapphire) from Sculptural Form - Surfboard für GBP 37.500,00 (€ 53.413,18) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 18.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Michael Dweck mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sonya, Poles (Montauk) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2018 für USD 168.750,00 (€ 148.914,58) versteigert wurde.
