Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2011 Christies in London held the auction Lyons Demesne Works of Art from The Collection ofThe Late Dr. Tony Ryan, which included the work Portrait of Sir Charles Shuckburgh, 2nd Bt., Master of the Staghounds to Queen Anne, three-quarter-length, in a green coat with gold buttons, holding a riding crop with a dog in a wooded landscape by Michael Dahl. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 10,625.00 (€ 12,193.78) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Michael Dahl have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Double Portrait Of A Lady And A Gentleman in December 2017 with an auction result of GBP 56,250.00 (€ 63,301.14).
