In June 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction Important British Paintings, which included the work Portrait Of Admiral Sir James Wishart (1650-1723) by Michael Dahl. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 42,050.00 (€ 53,152.61), 40% above the upper estimate. Other works by Michael Dahl have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 56,250.00 (€ 63,301.14) in December 2017 for the work Double Portrait Of A Lady And A Gentleman.

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 42.050,00 (€ 53.152,61) und damit 40% über dem oberen Schätzpreis.
