Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2006 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait of Admiral Sir George Rooke (1650-1709), three-quarter-length, holding a telescope, a naval battle beyond by Michael Dahl for USD 9,600.00 (€ 7,515.85). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master Paintings at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Michael Dahl have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Double Portrait Of A Lady And A Gentleman in December 2017 with an auction result of GBP 56,250.00 (€ 63,301.14).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2006 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Portrait of Admiral Sir George Rooke (1650-1709), three-quarter-length, holding a telescope, a naval battle beyond von Michael Dahl für USD 9.600,00 (€ 7.515,85) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Old Master Paintings bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Michael Dahl auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Double Portrait Of A Lady And A Gentleman im Dezember 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 56.250,00 (€ 63.301,14).
