Auction result misses estimated price range
In November last year a collector was able to acquire the work Rock Ptarmigan 14 x 16 in. framed 22 1/2 x 24 1/2 in. by Michael B. Coleman for USD 2,805.00 (€ 2,717.23). This price was achieved in the auction Western Art at Bonhams in Los Angeles and was even below the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Michael B. Coleman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work In the Rockies—Blackfeet in October 2020 with an auction result of USD 32,500.00 (€ 27,904.18).
