Auction result well in line with expectations
The work In Bitterroot Country by Michael B. Coleman was sold in the American Art Online auction at Christies in New York in November 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,125.00 (€ 7,373.63) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Michael B. Coleman - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work In the Rockies—Blackfeet, which sold at auction in October 2020 for USD 32,500.00 (€ 27,904.18).
