Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Michael Cline was auctioned at Christies in New York in July 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 250.00 (€ 226.70). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Michael Cline achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Free Turn in October 2020 with an auction result of GBP 5,250.00 (€ 5,829.68).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Michael Cline im Juli 2015 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 250,00 (€ 226,70) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Michael Cline erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Free Turn im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.250,00 (€ 5.829,68).
