Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Painting by Michaël Borremans was auctioned at Sothebys in London in October 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 250,000.00 – 350,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 275,000.00 (€ 318,980.28) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Michaël Borremans have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Girl With Duck in October 2015 with an auction result of GBP 2,045,000.00 (€ 2,860,444.21).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Painting von Michaël Borremans kam im Oktober 2019 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 250.000,00 – 350.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 275.000,00 (€ 318.980,28) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Michaël Borremans auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Girl With Duck im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.045.000,00 (€ 2.860.444,21).
