Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Race Horse by Michael B. Coleman was auctioned at Christies in New York in May 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 4,375.00 (€ 3,979.44). Admittedly, works by Michael B. Coleman have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work In the Rockies—Blackfeet in October 2020 with an auction result of USD 32,500.00 (€ 27,904.18).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Race Horse von Michael B. Coleman im Mai 2015 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 4.375,00 (€ 3.979,44) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Michael B. Coleman auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit In the Rockies—Blackfeet im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 32.500,00 (€ 27.904,18).
