Auction result well in line with expectations
The work SAX A.D. 832 - First Painting by Michael Andrews was sold in the Defining British Art Evening Sale auction at Christies in London in June 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 600,000.00 – 80,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,142,500.00 (€ 1,371,372.82) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Michael Andrews have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in June 2016 the work Near Malu Kata Evening, Katatjuta (The Olgas) was auctioned for GBP 1,265,000.00 (€ 1,518,412.80).

Die Arbeit SAX A.D. 832 - First Painting von Michael Andrews wurde im Juni 2016 in der Auktion Defining British Art Evening Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 600.000,00 – 80.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.142.500,00 (€ 1.371.372,82) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
