This artwork by Mg Tun Hla achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in June this year. In the Travel & Exploration Sale auction, the work 'Entrance to Schwedagon Pagoda', Rangoon sold for GBP 1,792.00 (€ 2,085.58) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 800.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Mg Tun Hla; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Shwedagon Pagoda sold at auction in April 2021 with the realized price of HKD 35,700.00 (€ 3,822.24).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Mg Tun Hla erzielte im Juni diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Travel & Exploration Sale wurde die Arbeit 'Entrance to Schwedagon Pagoda', Rangoon für GBP 1.792,00 (€ 2.085,58) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 800,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Mg Tun Hla; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit The Shwedagon Pagoda im April 2021 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 35.700,00 (€ 3.822,24).
