The price achieved of GBP 411.25 (€ 671.93) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300.00 – 500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mervyn Lawrence Peake - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The sculpture gallery, which sold at auction in July 2007 for GBP 1,200.00 (€ 1,782.28).
