Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Still life with a heron and a blue curtain; Still life with a deer and a red curtain by Melchior d'Hondecoeter was auctioned at Sothebys in Paris in June 2021. It achieved a price of EUR 138,600.00 exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 16 %. Admittedly, works by Melchior d'Hondecoeter have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A peacock, a peahen, a monkey and other birds on a terrace in January 2011 with an auction result of USD 1,650,500.00 (€ 1,203,426.90).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Still life with a heron and a blue curtain; Still life with a deer and a red curtain von Melchior d'Hondecoeter kam im Juni 2021 bei Sothebys in Paris zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von EUR 138.600,00 und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 16 %. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Melchior d'Hondecoeter auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A peacock, a peahen, a monkey and other birds on a terrace im Januar 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.650.500,00 (€ 1.203.426,90).
