Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of USD 252,000.00 (€ 206,659.01) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. Admittedly, works by Melchior d'Hondecoeter have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A peacock, a peahen, a monkey and other birds on a terrace in January 2011 with an auction result of USD 1,650,500.00 (€ 1,203,426.90).
