Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2017 Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Paintings, which included the work A Peacock And Pea Hen With A Crane, Chickens And Other Birds In A Landscape by Melchior d'Hondecoeter. The price achieved of USD 372,500.00 (€ 326,439.40) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Melchior d'Hondecoeter - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A peacock, a peahen, a monkey and other birds on a terrace, which sold at auction in January 2011 for USD 1,650,500.00 (€ 1,203,426.90).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2017 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Master Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Peacock And Pea Hen With A Crane, Chickens And Other Birds In A Landscape von Melchior d'Hondecoeter zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 372.500,00 (€ 326.439,40) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 300.000,00 – 500.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Melchior d'Hondecoeter mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A peacock, a peahen, a monkey and other birds on a terrace beobachtet, die im Januar 2011 für USD 1.650.500,00 (€ 1.203.426,90) versteigert wurde.
