Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Summer Landscape With A Watermill by Meindert Hobbema was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2010. The price achieved of GBP 361,250.00 (€ 434,362.42) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300,000.00 – 400,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Meindert Hobbema achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Wooded Landscape With Travellers On A Path Through A Hamlet in July 2001 with an auction result of GBP 6,493,750.00 (€ 10,574,602.95).
