Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Meindert Hobbema could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in April 2015 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Weldon Collection auction, the work A Cottage At The Edge Of A Wood changed hands for USD 394,000.00 (€ 352,983.34) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 400,000.00 – 600,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Meindert Hobbema achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Wooded Landscape With Travellers On A Path Through A Hamlet in July 2001 with an auction result of GBP 6,493,750.00 (€ 10,574,602.95).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Meindert Hobbema konnte im April 2015 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion The Weldon Collection wechselte die Arbeit A Cottage At The Edge Of A Wood für USD 394.000,00 (€ 352.983,34) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 400.000,00 – 600.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Meindert Hobbema erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Wooded Landscape With Travellers On A Path Through A Hamlet im Juli 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.493.750,00 (€ 10.574.602,95).
