It achieved a price of GBP 62,900.00 (€ 85,470.43), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 57%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Meindert Hobbema achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Wooded Landscape With Travellers On A Path Through A Hamlet in July 2001 with an auction result of GBP 6,493,750.00 (€ 10,574,602.95).

Die Arbeit A View On A Canal In A Dutch Village With Barges Moared On The Quay Near Houses von Meindert Hobbema wurde im Dezember 2007 in der Auktion Old Master Paintings Day Sale bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 62.900,00 (€ 85.470,43) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 57%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Meindert Hobbema erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Wooded Landscape With Travellers On A Path Through A Hamlet im Juli 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.493.750,00 (€ 10.574.602,95).
