In December 2015 Christies in Mumbai held the auction The India Sale, which included the work Untitled (Minibus) by Meera Mukherjee. The auction ended at the price of INR 2,500,000.00 (€ 34,763.79), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of INR 1,800,000.00 – 2,500,000.00. Admittedly, works by Meera Mukherjee have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Mango Orchard) in March last year with an auction result of USD 226,800.00 (€ 204,453.26).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im Dezember 2015 führte Christies in Mumbai die Auktion The India Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Minibus) von Meera Mukherjee zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von INR 2.500.000,00 (€ 34.763,79) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von INR 1.800.000,00 – 2.500.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Meera Mukherjee auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Mango Orchard) im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 226.800,00 (€ 204.453,26).
