Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Two cowboys on horses paper 12 3/4 x 21 1/2 in. framed 24 x 32 in. by Maynard Dixon was sold in the The Collection of G. Andrew Bjurman auction at Bonhams in Los Angeles in November last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 44,475.00 (€ 43,083.41) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Maynard Dixon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Pony Boy in October 2000 with an auction result of USD 1,326,000.00 (€ 1,562,573.65).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Two cowboys on horses paper 12 3/4 x 21 1/2 in. framed 24 x 32 in. von Maynard Dixon wurde im November letzten Jahres in der Auktion The Collection of G. Andrew Bjurman bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 44.475,00 (€ 43.083,41) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Maynard Dixon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Pony Boy im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.326.000,00 (€ 1.562.573,65).
