It achieved a price of USD 20,400.00 (€ 19,360.35), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 36%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Maynard Dixon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Pony Boy in October 2000 with an auction result of USD 1,326,000.00 (€ 1,562,573.65).

Die Arbeit Sketch for Picture "The Lost Tribes" von Maynard Dixon kam im April letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 20.400,00 (€ 19.360,35) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 36%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Maynard Dixon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Pony Boy im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.326.000,00 (€ 1.562.573,65).
